Port of Cartagena de Indias and Cartagena Cruise Terminal join as major sponsor of Cartagena Cruise Dialogue 2020.
Cartagena de Indias Cruise Terminal serves 34 cruise lines and receives 97 percent of passengers arriving by sea to Colombia, thus being the main passenger mobilization port in the country. With award-winning environmental, cultural and economic practices, it is located in the urban area of the city, just 3.2 kilometers from the Historic Center and the main commercial areas. This industry injects more than 60 million dollars annually into the city’s economy.
The Cartagena de Indias Cruise Terminal has an important attraction for tourists, a 1,000 square meter garden called Port Oasis Ecopark with more than 700 animals of 74 species, which constitutes a representative sample of Colombian fauna and flora. This initiative won the Maritime Award of the Americas under the category of Sustainable Tourist Destination Port, delivered by the Organization of American States, OAS as a recognition of the organization’s environmental practices in cruise operations
